Our Approach

Our Approach

Project Vidya
Through intervention in the education system, SEEDS envisages to augment capacities of learners, teachers and community by imparting a balance of knowledge, behavior, competency and attitudes with respect to academic achievement, technology and functional skills. The program interventions employ progressive & mobile technologies, digital experience, exposure to innovation & creativity within the immediate context and accessible reach of students. The project collectively develops the improved learning environment in schools

Technological Interventions:

In order to achieve its objective of improving learning outcomes, SEEDS introduced K-Yan, a multimedia device to transform classrooms into digital learning spaces, in government schools in SPSR Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh. By using content which is modern, engaging and involves the student at every step this project encourages interactive learning. Digital classes through K-Yan have helped students understand difficult concepts and score better. A student who attended these classes adds, "The knowledge I have gained here, will help me in future too"

Fluency in English language is important for increased career prospects and a marketable skill. Keeping this in mind, SEEDS launched Read to Me initiative which uses language based software to assist students in learning the language, by reading and speaking with correct pronunciations

Non-technological Interventions:

With the objective to aid in learning and encourage students to work harder, SEEDS conducts yearly district level quiz competitions for all government schools. The competitions provide great opportunities for students with diverse backgrounds to interact and learn from each other. The Principal of ZPHS Gundamadakala reiterates, "This event has built a healthy competitive spirit among the students and is a platform to showcase their knowledge"

Project Kaushal

Through skill development initiatives, SEEDS aims to reach out to the unemployed youth across villages, a model of which it has demonstrated in Duttalur Village & Mandal, Andhra Pradesh. SEEDS with the help of its empaneled partner IL&FS skills has been implementing various skilling programs including trainings in Sewing Machine Operations, Solar Technician trade, Mobile phone servicing. It has also taken up computer literacy courses for school kids and adults. These trainings have proved to be helpful in bringing unemployed youth into the formal sector, thereby creating lifetime career opportunities for them

Skill development programs of SEEDS has entrepreneurship components within it to assure that the youth unwilling to migrate, can establish their own ventures depending on the local needs. It also ensures participation of women in the skilling process, who otherwise have inhibitions to migrate to other districts/states in the country. These programs lead to effective utilization of local resources while also developing the local area and society as a whole
