Unrelenting in its spread, the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown the livelihoods of lakhs into a chaotic twister.
The ongoing lockdown, in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic, has affected the lives of some of the most vulnerable
communities across the country, such as destitutes, migrant labourers, waste pickers, single mothers and other
poor people who have been seriously affected.
It is to cushion the impact of the crisis on these sections, and to ensure their access to essentials, SEEDS, in its LEED
(Local area Education and Economic Development) Project area of 5 remote dryland mandals in SPSR Nellore District of
Andhra Pradesh, has identified more than 500 such poor and vulnerable families who does not have access to government
entitlements and needs immediate support.
We are providing a ration kit consisting of Food and Hygiene items to each of these families which would meet their requirements
before their normal lives resume. Our team has been reaching out to them with the support of local authorities and volunteers that
include teachers, social workers and youth. So far, our team has reached out to 364 most needy families in the 5 mandal project area and
supported them while keeping the government authorities informed of the same. Locations of such families are mapped dynamically which
can be seen in the below:
